Synopsis
The exciting re-apparition of a Piffetti
This unique, inlaid chest of drawers tells the story of a commission by the Piedmontese aristocracy and has recently been added to the list of workds by Pietro Piffetti (1701-1777), the eminent Italian cabinet-maker. In its iconography we see the the patron - the Marquis Giuseppe Francesco Ludovico Morozzo della Rocca (1704-1767), eminence grise in the Turin of Charles Emmanuel III - and the Venerable Giambattista Trona (1682-1750), Oratorian priest in Mondovì.
