Synopsis

The artist’s vision

This book has been made possible with the kind support accorded to the sculptor and painter Filippo La Vaccara by The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Inc. of New York. Curated by the Artist himself and by the Museologist and Art historian Mercedes Auteri, the book contains 90 pictures accompanied by short texts from his diaries which can be read as a single story and offer an overview of the artist activity from 1996 to 2016. From large plaster or painted fabric sculptures to small paintings on cotton paper, from terracotta portraits executed in the absence of the model to modern landscapes realized on the outskirts of Milan or in Sicily: this is a journey in pictures and words that will bring the reader deep into the artist’s vision, giving a glimpse of contemporary art narrated in his own voice.
